The Acapulco Blue paint on this GT500 is one of the most popular colors offered, and for good reason: it's ideal on the swoopy Shelby bodywork. Yeah, I'll say it: I think the 1969-70 GT500 is the best-looking Shelby ever built, and with fantastic color combination, this 1970 Shelby GT500 is an absolute knock-out AM/FM✔ Air Conditioning

It had classic composition for a light performance vehicle and was economical to purchase and operate. That is until a texan who loved to make cars goes fast got his hands on one. Carroll shelby made his mustang based cars into legends overnight. By the late 1960's, shelby had personally stepped back from the ford mustang program, but the cars bearing his name were just as potent and he had a hand in their design and development. For 1969, the mustang gt's featured a totally different front end, and many said the hand-selected engines put in the shelby's had just a bit more kick that the regular ford products. There were few other machines from 1969 that could match the mighty gt500. And what few other performers could do was produce a car in striking colors and then offer it as a convertible. The car - one of just 42 gt500 convertibles finished in grabber green, according to documentation associated with this car, its original owner was dennis walsh, regional sales manager. Shipped by rail to east point ford in georgia, walsh used the car to show off the performance of these mean machines. According to the family, the car was equipped with a special intake manifold that was to be evaluated by walsh for future planned production. It is reported this car retains it numbers matching engine with a deviation of the vin stamped on the back of the block. It is fitted with factory am-fm radio, interior dcor group, tilt-steering wheel and its original naca air-induction hood. Topping of this car's history is a copy of the marti report which details the factory specification for this car. AM/FM

Ford handled much of the redesign of the new mustang, transforming it into a shelby, as carroll shelby was off on other ventures. Smith for the final outfitting of these cars, they epitomized the ideal of speed and style in one package, with a few even making their way to the world of motorsports. Considered a bit tamer than the gt500, the gt350's were still a force to be reckoned with. These cars seemed to epitomize the idea of a gentleman's sports car, but one that anyone could tame with a little patience. These special performance vehicles were set apart from the basic mustang, including some high impact colors that ford and shelby both marketed as the grabbers. It was a time of space exploration and unbridled horsepower, and the shelby mustangs are tangible evidence that prove it was a wonderful time to live. The car - it is very well-known that by the summer of 1969, carroll shelby had terminated his contracts with ford. At the end of the 1969 model year, ford recalled all unsold units and under observation of the fbi, those units were renumbered as 1970 models. As a result, production figures for 1969 and 1970 shelby mustangs are combined. According to factory records a combined total of 935 gt350 coupes were produced. This example is finished in grabber blue and with the black vinyl high-back bucket seats. Verifying this sought-after muscle car's heritage is a deluxe marti report which spells out exactly how many of this model were produced as well as the equipment installed at the factory. Given a cosmetic restoration several years ago this a very presentable example of a pony car on steroids. Beauty, speed and a legend all in one package would truly be the gift that keeps on giving.
