Great colors, a 400 cubic inch V8, and those three little letters make this a car with a small price that will get big attention wherever it goes. The design was all-new in 1968, so in 1969, it was freshened a bit but nothing too radical. The best thing to come out of the redesign were those hidden headlights, which were optional and completely transformed the GTO's look. Wearing code 51 Liberty Blue, which is this car's original color, this GTO has a more mature, sophisticated look than its brother the Judge, who can usually be seen in bright orange duds. It was repainted a few years ago and still looks good, but a professional buff would really make this car shine. Hood scoops and an Endura front bumper make this car easy to recognize from the front, and aside from a few bumps and bruises, it's in very good shape overall. The code 257 Ivory interior is what Pontiac fans usually call Parchment, and it's a great choice with the dark blue paint. We're pretty sure it's original, so it's not perfect, but it's much too nice to replace and has a comfortable look that's more inviting than some repro parts would be. Besides, reproduction parts wouldn't have the same detail and crisp pleats that the factory stuff does. The original three-spoke steering wheel will look familiar to GTO fans and a center console is pretty much a mandatory option on something this sporting. Gauges cover only the basics, but the three round pods look suitably racy and it's original enough that even the factory AM radio is still in the dash, although an AM/FM/CD stereo has been stashed out of sight. Other options include factory A/C (needs to be serviced) and a heavy-duty TH400 3-speed automatic transmission. There's also a bright white power convertible top and a neatly finished trunk with a full-sized spare on board. We're inclined to believe the YS-coded 400 cubic inch V8 is the original, numbers-matching engine, but we can't verify the numbers beyond knowing that the date code is correct. It starts easily and has a very healthy sound that's matched by a huge swell of torque at just about any speed. The engine bay is in good order, with a factory twin-snorkel air cleaner, fresh hoses, and options like power steering and brakes. It's been enhanced with an Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold under the original Quadrajet carburetor, but the modifications are minimal. The dual exhaust system sounds great but ne. 1969 pontiac gto ramair 3 400cid v-8 numbers matching frame-off restoration. My son and i found this gto in a barn on a farm outside of amarillo about 7 years ago. The car was up on blocks and didn't have anything but surface rust, was all original, and had numbers matching. We started restoring the car shortly after, but then my son left for the air force for 6 years. The car sat in a garage under cover until he got back. By that time, he had lost interest in it, and i was left to finish it. The car drives extremely smooth and strong. We did a frame-off restoration, and the frame was blasted and checked for any damage or rust. Then it was prepped and shot with industrial enamel. The underside of the body was undercoated. Everything from there was replaced new or refurbished. Nothing on the car from bumper to bumper was left untouched, and no expense was spared. The car has ice-cold air conditioning, power brakes, power steering, and tach in the hood, with less than 20 miles put on the car since we bought it. Any questions, please feel free to contact me. Never been restored, just very well kept. Original paint and interior. It was a well optioned car with factory air, power steering, power top, and cruise control. No visible rust on the body. The frame and floor pans are solid. Comes with a folder of paperwork to support the odometer reading of 88k miles. The interior is in great shape with no rips and the cushions are firm and comfy. The top is also in good shape with no rips or holes either. This car was a weekend driver most of its life and never sat for long periods. It was obviously garage kept as the paint and chrome show very well for its age. It has a few nicks and scratches but looks awesome going down the road. It was just driven from orlando to miami and back a couple weeks ago with no issues. All the belts and hoses were recently replaced for the sale, as well as new plugs, wires, cap, tires, brakes, etc. All fluids were just changed. The top seals up nice and tight, and the all the weatherstripping is good so the doors shut nicely. The windows go up and down effortlessly. It doesnt have any quirks or issues and is easy to drive. Has documentation from pontiac historical society and is an absolute pleasure to drive. 1969 firebird specs: all original floors, chassis frame components etc. The under body including the rockers were absolutely pristine! This is the main reason i purchased this car, all the important structural stuff was intact. We then disassembled the car completely, including removal of rear quarters and took it to american dry stripping and had it completely stripped and soda blasted to insure we were getting any rust issues cleaned up and thoroughly epoxy primed the entire body and all chassis parts before starting the metal work. All sheet metal used was nos sheet metal except for the hood and deck lid and these are fitted perfectly. All body parts were installed and gap fitted and then disassembled and all components painted off the car. The underside of this car is also detailed and is in perfect condition, no rust scalloping or other signs of a very rusty underbody. All stainless brake and fuel lines as well. Engine 400 cubic inch 330 hp numbers matching with all machine work documented and professionally assembled. Ram air 3 cam, block 030 over, decked and crank line bored and polished. Rebuilt original quadrajet carb, cooling system has heavy duty desert cooler 4 core radiator as well as oe tower clamps and runs well without any overheating issues. Transmission is a numbers matching muncie m20 4 speed, again original to the car, completely rebuilt with a 4speed hurst competition plus body with the round correct chrome stick. Rear differential featured a 3:55 gear set positraction unit completely rebuilt using the finest components available and all work performed by a master technician experienced in the pontiac product line. All brakes were completely restored to like new specs, all wiring harnesses were replaced and are correct in every detail. Dash gauges were restored by potomac pontiac and the dash pad was restored by just dashes in california. All interior components completely restored using all parts by legendary auto interiors, the best in the business for quality interior parts. The convertible top frame was completely disassembled, painted and installed with a new top installed by a professional installer. The chrome parts on the car were all rechromed original components no cheap chinese stuff that never fits properly. This is essentially a new 1969 pontiac firebird 400 convertible.
