I bought the car from the fellow who bought it from the restoration shop who had ended up buying the car from the client. A little bit of mud was used in font and behind the rear wheel on the lips. Lot of the hard work is done but the car is a good ways from finished

This 1969 jaguar xke ots (that's open two-seater to us yanks) is often called a series 1. 5 model, incorporating dozens of performance and reliability improvements over the series i, and unquestionably more handsome than the later cars, making it one of the most desirable e-types of all. Never a rusty car, it has obviously spent its life in a warm climate, and that's especially critical on jaguars, which can rust in the most demonic ways possible. Note the small grille opening, slender bumpers, and taillights still perched above the rear bumpers, all indicative of the series 1. 5 cars and making it one of the prettiest of all. While an automatic transmission was added to the options sheet with the series ii later in the year, this one still sports a proper 4-speed manual, a revised gearbox that's almost as silky as the bodywork. Toggle switches, not ordinary rockers, still control all the secondary functions, and big, round smiths gauges are a right british way to monitor the engine. That moto-lita steering wheel is real wood, and sumptuous carpets give it a plush, luxurious feeling inside, especially with those sisal mats on top. This car also includes a rare blaupunkt am/fm radio that has been upgraded for ipod operation. The series 1. 5 cars got a nice bump in performance thanks to a revised 4. 2 liter dohc inline-six. Still silky smooth and willing to howl to redline in every gear, it also produces more torque for american tastes. Polished cam covers and a gold spark plug valley easily ident. AM/FM✔ Leather Seats

This e-type roadster is a matching numbers example that was purchased in the u. By a local new york collector in 2013. This e-type has been restored to exacting standards and far better than when originally manufactured. The original matching-numbers engine was completely rebuilt, balanced and blueprinted and enlarged to 4. 7 liter specification. New high-performance camshafts, valve springs, jd pistons, lightweight flywheel and balanced crank shaft as well as an aluminum radiator with an electric cooling fan were fitted for improved performance and efficiency. Furthermore, a modern fuel injection system developed by jd classics was fitted. Converted from right to left hand drive during restoration, a new electric power steering column was fitted as well as a new upgraded peddle assembly. A fabricated stainless exhaust was handmade and fitted. For better drivability, a five-speed transmission was supplied and installed. The brake system was upgraded to ap brakes and suspension handling kit was fitted to ensure superb road holding/handling. Finally, stainless steel competition wire wheels mounted with dunlop performance tires. The restored interior received a new stereo system and modern sport seats. The restoration took over two years and cost a little over $377,000. 00 at the time. Extremely expenses to duplicate, this e-type is superb in every way and ready for immediate use.
