Comoptions:description:i have an extremely clean, all original, datsun 280z for sale, one owner. This car is one of the cleanest zs i have ever seen. This car was just purchased several months ago from a retired gentleman in arizona. He had owned the car for 37 years. He bought the car when it was 6 months old. Before i bought the car he had his long time mechanic give the car a tune up. This car runs like a dream. It is surprisingly quiet for an old z. This z runs like a top with the original motor and trans working seamlessly. Transmission shifts smooth and the car starts everytime. I just fired this car up after 3 weeks of it sitting in a stored facility with absolutely no issues. The previous owner had this car in a storage facility in arizona for the last 25 years. Keep in mind most of these old zs are rusted. This one has no rust!

The engine and 5 speed manual transmission came out of a wrecked low-mileage 1982 280zx. The engine bolts right up but some minor modifications needed to be made to accommodate the T5 transmission. I purchased the truck last march on ebay and had it shipped from oregon. The truck was as an older mechanical restoration from and elderly owner and in showed up as described. (pics included). Items of note were the rebuilt engine.(engine ran great and when i installed the carbs and i saw evidence of rebuild and cylinder head porting) front suspension rebuilt. Upon receiving the truck i decided to go ahead and resto mod it. Exterior: paint is mostly original, i had the doors re sprayed when i removed the elephant ear tow mirrors. There is evidence of the factory pin striping in the paint and it would be awesome to see it redone. There is a dent in the passenger rocker panel and a scrape on the lower portion of the bed on the passenger side as well. Other than those two items there is only typical dings for a truck of this vintage. I opted to leave the exterior finish alone for patina and because i want to actually drive the truck and use it. This truck is not rusty, there are small spots that are starting to bubble in the paint along the rocker and in the bed side but these are very minor and a testament to the fact that this truck is a survivor. The truck has the more attractive early style grille and emblem and a sheet metal period style air dam. Color matched bed liner. Interior: the interior of this truck is in incredible condition, all the factory panels are intact and have been re dyed or wrapped in a quality vinyl. The dash was removed for the installation of the cap and it fits great! I have installed the rare and impossibly expensive factory tachometer. It has all new carpets and custom made floor mats. Factory heater, defroster and air ventilation systems work. Entire cabin from floors to rear window has been sound insulated with hush mat. (more on that when we get to the audio portion) headliner and seats are in great condition. I installed new safer seat belts as well. All glass is good and the rear sliding window and door glass all function smoothly. Factory jack, tool kit and tire irons are there as well as their rare leather covers and tool pouches. Nardi wood grain steering wheel on oem 720 st steering hub (factory part retains blinker canceller). Custom hand made datsun shift knob. Interior of cabin has been insulated with hush mat. (pics of install included) head unit is the pioneer 80 prs with built in processor amplifier is the kenwood excelon kr900-5 five channel amplifier focal 6. 5 coaxial speakers in custom kick panels gladen sqx 10' in a probox sealed enclosure. All power cables are pro line quality as the system was built for sound quality. The entire system was adjusted on a scope and rta. Another neat option is that i left the factory radio intact on the dash and installed the head unit in the factory console above the shifter. When looking in the vehicle it appears to only have a factory radio also deterring theft. Its not earth shattering window rattling bass its clean bass with incredible sound separation. The tweeters and mids are run in mid/low/high and not the usual front/rear/sub configuration. Everything else will sound like garbage. Also keep in mind there are only three speakers in this setup which is equally amazing. Suspension and drive line:truck has had front suspension, ball joints, tie rods ,steering links replaced. Truck has been lowered up front with a re index of the torsion bars and the front shocks are kyb pinto units. Rear has been lowered with blocks and proper pinion wedges to keep the drive shaft happy. New u joints installed in the drive shaft as well as the new carrier bearing assembly. The 78 has front power disc brakes and it actually stops pretty well. Brand new kuhmo tires and new chevy rally steel wheels color matched to the body. I've converted it to the long ratio 5spd out of the 81 datsun 280zx that i managed to find in almost new condition. No sloppy wobble or hard shifting. With the new trans this truck will cruise happily with the flow of traffic without issue. Engine: datsun l20bexcellent mechanical condition. Ported headpolished cam coverheadernew water pump and fan clutchfreshly rodded and sealed radiatornew cap and rotor and plugspertronix igniter (no more points and condenser)rare swan neck manifold for the dual carb setup that was designed to clear the brake booster on the 620 pickups. All new carb linkagesbrand new italian weber dcoe 40's carbsnew carter electric fuel pump. (this unit is specifically designed to run these carbs and its the secret to them operating so flawlessly)carbs are synced and balanced, no choke needed in south texas climate but it fires right up and warms up quickly. Proper crankcase ventilation with catch can. Extremely clean engine bay!! I have tried my best to cover everything in my description. But please be mindful of my time. Tachometer

This is a very rare "pearl black edition" 2 owner both having it a total of 19 years each. 27000 original miles. The owner was very particular about this one. The engine compartment probably looks better now than it ever has. The paint is in excellent condition. Get this one while the getting is good! It is low mileage to so it is only gonna go up in value. I cannot describe how slick and nice this car is. The interior is like new. All gauges work properly.
