This 1960 willys 4x4 pickup has a very cool modern-retro look going on, when in actuality it has merely been restored to mostly original specifications. It's definitely got a no-nonsense demeanor, but this willys reminds us who really invented the iconic look and that utility doesn't have to be plain. With just two owners and a lifetime in the warm texas sun, this cool little 4x4 has led an easier life than most of its siblings. As a result, all the hazards that vehicles face out on the road, ranging from accidents to road salt, are a complete non-issue here. Thanks to expert work by wagonmaster a few years ago, panel fit is excellent, and the bed is completely unmarked, a result of its working days being over. The traditional willys look remains very much in evidence, with flat front fenders, simple wagon-like doors, and a bed that looks like it was hand-crafted by a blacksmith. There are a few chrome bits, including the bumpers, grill bars, and the neat trim along the sides of the doors, but for the most part, this is pure workhorse 4x4. The interior is perhaps where the most liberties were taken, as the stock bench seat was covered in handsome green vinyl. Simple gauges in the center of the dash monitor speed and the engine's vitals and appear to be in very good original condition and the knobs are correctly labeled for their functions. No radio is another indicator that this truck never served as daily transportation, although there is a heater, which is probably a good idea for a 4x4. Turn signals were added for safety and there's a spotlight for the driver, but otherwise, the equipment is sparse, just as intended. Rubber mats, a 3-speed manual gearbox, and levers for the 4x4 system round out the driver's controls. Wearing industrial gray paint and red lettering on the head, it will look familiar to jeep fans, and retains all its original equipment, including the single-barrel carburetor and 6-volt electrical system with generator. The perfect finishing touch are those red painted steel wheels which wear modern 245/75/16 bfgoodrich off-road rubber.

Seller's comments and description: professionally restored 1956 willys pickup. The restoration of this vehicle has been to factory specifications and detail. The original 226 super hurricane inline 6 cylinder engine and the transmission were removed, all body components were removed from the frame. The frame was blasted, primed, and sealed professionally. New brake lines and all braking components were installed. The original wheels were blasted and painted to match. New original style tires were mounted. The cab, hood,fenders, and bed were professionally taken down to bare metal. Excellent body work; then etching primer, then primer, the the final coat of paint was applied. The finished color is a two-tone coors blue and yellow with a red pin stipe. The paint job has been cut and buffed to perfection. The body was re-assembled to the frame using stainless bolts where possible. All smaller components were blasted and coated. The interior and exterior chrome and stainless parts were all restored perfectly. The original gas tank was removed and a custom made aluminum tank was installed. The original oil bath air cleaner and vacuum wiper motor has yet to be restored and is not pictured; they will come with the pickup. The radiator was completely remanufactured and tested profesionally. All mechanical components of the vehicle were meticulously restored. It has completely new, factory wiring installed perfectly in 12 volt. The engine was disassembled and the block sent to be bored, honed, and magnifluxed, insuring its reliability. The crank, valves, bearings, and oil and water pumps were replaced. The head was also reconditioned. The transmission was gone through and are in perfect working order. The original carb was rebuilt. A new exhaust system was installed to match the original with a turn down midway. The interior is completely custom. There is not an original radio installed. 1956 willys wagon - all original came down significantly on price - i need to get this out of my drive way! Original/factory body and parts including the super hurricane 6 cylinder motor. The motor runs but needs to be rebuilt. Very little rust on the body. No wrecks, major dents, etc. Body is extremely clean for 1956 model. This 1957 High Hood is a complete off frame restoration. The engine, transmission, transfer case, rear end, and front end have been disassembled, inspected, and restored to new condition. The color is Aztec Orange which was first offered in 1957. The underside of the tub is coated with LINE - X. Copy of an original advertisement depicting a CJ3B in Aztec Orange, original owners manual, and service manual included.
