Hertel auto group is pleased to offer this very nice and clean, well-maintained 1998 mitsubishi 3000gt sl sports car for sale in fort worth texas. Only produced from 1991 till 1998, the mitsubishi 3000 - and its mopar corporate cousin, the dodge stealth - was a joint venture between the two companies where were closely aligned in the 80's and 90's. Sometimes referred to as the "diamond star" company, the 3000 gt traced its roots back to the mitsubishi starion and dodge conquest models which were designed to compete against the popular nissan z cars of the 80's. However, despite their efforts, the two models' boxy design and suspect build qualities made them a failure in competing head to head against the z cars. In addition, the rear-wheel-drive setup of the starion was replaced with a front-wheel-drive platform that could draw from existing vehicles in the mitsubishi lineup. The basis for the 3000 gt was the same chassis used in the mitsubishi eclipse. One aspect that remained the same though was the effort by mitsubishi to cram every bit of high-tech gadgetry possible into the 3000gt. Mitsu wanted drivers to feel like they were piloting a high-performance space ship with ergonomics that felt like the car had been transported to them from somewhere in the future. And in this aspect, the 3000gt succeeded. Slotting squarely in the middle of the 3000gt lineup, this sl model was the luxury version of the car. Sporting an enthusiastic 3. 0-liter dohc 24v v6 engine, it had original factory specifications of 222 horsepower and 205 lb ft of torque. Base models were stuck with an anemic 161 horsepower engine, so the sl was a welcome step up in performance as well as equipment. Of note is the carfax report which does show this car was involved in an accident in september of 1999 and the airbags were deployed. However, it is evident that the vehicle was professionally repaired and now 2 owners and over 100k miles later it is still a great car. Inside, the smoke-free interior of this luxury sl model is nicely equipped with leather; infinity audio; a power sunroof; power windows, locks & mirrors; cruise control; a/c and more. As with any pre-owned vehicle, it does have the usual amount of cosmetic imperfections that are inherent to a vehicle of this age and mileage. Only 4,758 3000gt's were produced in 1998 and of those, only 1,611 were sl models. That makes this a very desirable car for the future. Come and get it while it's still here. Facebook. This vehicle is in EXCELLANT CONDITION andI have documents to prove it! The body is in mint condition. The car is fully loaded with powerwindows, seats,mirrors, A/C and also has a remote engine start for the coldweather. The interior is also in EXCELLENT CONDITION except for some wear on thedrivers side seat. Car runs and drives like its brand new. I have over 20,000 inreceipts of vehicle history from the previous owner and myself. Its important tonote that the engine was rebuilt by jasper when it had 100,723 miles and thevehicle reads now 154061. that's approximately 54,000 miles on the newengine that cost over 5,000. I just put in a new transmission 2 years ago itonly has about 13,000 miles on it that cost almost 3,000. just recently Ichanged the entire brake system. Front and rear rotors and pads as well as fixedthe tie rods and added two tires to the front. that work was done recent withonly 3,500 miles on it. Yesterday I had them run the computer to get it ready tosell and showed a bad oxygen sensor and battery. so it was all replaced washedand detailed 400.00 later. I also have a very loud after market exhaust in thevehicle. It sounds really cool I made a video if anyone is interested. It'salso important to note that there's also an aftermarket sound system withan amp that was over 1,000. I have tons of receipts and documents in addition towhat's listed.
