The recipe is simple: take one vintage mustang, add a v8, fill it with accessories, then dress it in handsome blue paint. In reality, the application of the recipe is somewhat more challenging, but this 1968 ford mustang coupe absolutely nails it. This pony isn't about investments and numbers-chasing, it's about traditional mustang performance. And a big part of that appeal is making one of the greatest designs of all time into something that makes people stop in their tracks. This great-looking blue mustang is arguably over-restored, since no 1968 mustang ever had paint this shiny on the showroom floor, and it's quite fresh, having been completed in the not-too-distant past. Gaps are excellent, the panels are straight, and there aren't many americans who can't imagine themselves behind the wheel of this coupe. Chrome and stainless is quite good, giving this coupe a high-quality look that isn't just an illusion, with some parts, such as the door handles, likely being original. There's also a black vinyl top that helps dress it up a bit without removing that mustang attitude, leaving us with one great-looking coupe. The fairly stock look inside is a result of blending original and reproduction pieces seamlessly to give it a very inviting look. Most of the soft components are new, including the seat covers and carpets, while the door panels also appear to be recent and inserted into original door skins. This car originally had a/c, and the whole system has been upgraded with modern components, so it blows ice cold and remains easy to service. And one glance in the trunk is proof that this car has probably led an easy life, and the full-sized spare is just a good idea. The vin says this car should be carrying a 289 cubic inch v8, which is what currently lives under the hood. Equipped with a chrome dress-up kit, the car delivers on the performance promises made by the appealing blue paint. It's mostly stock, but the intake manifold is topped by an edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor instead of the original 2-barrel while the a/c system is entirely new and the structure is reinforced with an export brace and monte carlo bar. The c4 3-speed automatic transmission shifts crisply and makes this an effortless cruiser and power steering and power front disc brakes are always welcome features in an early mustang. A mellow-sounding dual exhaust system gives it that traditional mustang sound and the tub has been reinforced with a set of subframe connectors that make a notable difference. Period torque thrust wheels look right and carry fresh 225/60/14 bfgoodrich radials. AM/FM✔ Air Conditioning

Born originally as 1968 convertible, 289, 3-spd manual, acapulco blue metallic with lt. Blue crinkle vinyl interior, this car has gone through a complete transformation! Shelby hood and deck lid, shelby steering wheel and console, shelby gauges, shelby wheels, shelby rear taillights, shelby roll bar, and more. Under the hood breaths a 302cid, 4bbl mated to a 3 speed automatic transmission with a 3. 55 rear end. New paint, new black vinyl interior, new top, this car looks absolutely awesome. She runs fantastic and is a blast to drive. The attention to detail makes this car absolutely look like a ''''''''''''''''68 shelby convertible, without the six figure price! My father started selling chevrolet''''''''''''''''s in 1958. We owned several gm franchises in my home town of brownwood, texas. I grew up in the car business, loving cars, so it was a natural transition for me in 1994 to join jordan ford/jordan motorcars. My passion for automobiles and the automobile business is part of what i enjoy sharing with my clients. My father always said, "buying a vehicle should be a wonderful experience.", and i truly want that for each of my clients. Call jerry daniell 210-834-7980 or email me at jdaniell@jordanford. Com.

This is a one of a kind 1968 mustang convertible it was purchased out of mustang, oklahoma the previous owner began its restoration process more than 16 years ago. Under his ownership he had the engine, transmission and front end suspension reconditioned. This 1968 mustang has the original matching numbers 289 engine and automatic transmission and it runs and sounds amazing with a brand new dual exhaust system. This was a factory ac car and all of the interior components are still present but previous owner removed the air compressor. The factory drum brakes work well. The power convertible top and gauges all work and the car recently passed state safety inspection. A fresh 2-stage paint job was just completed and the body panels are straight to show off the high-gloss raven paint. Too many things to list but the pictures should speak for itself. I've documented all recent work showing before and after photos. Air Conditioning

We'll admit that the paint on this car needs some work, and it's visible in the photos. However, the burgundy finish benefits in a big way from a recent professional buff job, so the car has a handsome look befitting its very reasonable price tag. And while the paint itself is showing some age, the bodywork underneath remains in excellent shape, so no worries about extensive surgery. The hood has a shelby-style scoop and a set of hood pins, there's also a shelby-style grille up front that really makes it look aggressive. Chrome is bright, the stainless is in good order, and all the mustang badges are in their proper places. There's a lot of potential here. We suspect the interior is mostly original and with that in mind, it's pretty nice. The driver's seat shows some age, which isn't surprising, and the good news is that new seat covers are shockingly cheap and easy to install. A wood-rimmed steering wheel adds a bit of upscale elegance and a racy vibe, while the big, round gauges are bright and easy to read. The original am radio has been replaced by a more recent kenwood am/fm/cd unit that fits into the original slot, so it almost looks like it was born there. Finally, the trunk features a correct plaid mat. The engine is a correct c-code 289 cubic inch v8, which has obviously had a lot of attention lavished upon it recently. Looking every bit like the original powerplant, it wears ford blue paint, ford racing valve, and a matching finned air cleaner supplies the fresh air. Edelbrock supplied the intake manifold, which is topped by a holley 4-barrel carburetor, a nice upgrade from the original 2-barrel unit. Tubular exhaust headers feed a flowmaster dual exhaust system with an x-pipe that delivers a v8 sound without being too loud, both at full throttle and more importantly, at cruising speeds. A 3-speed automatic transmission drives a rugged 8-inch rear with easy-cruising 3. 00 gears, and it all hangs on original suspension pieces with modern shocks. 16-inch torque thrust wheels and 225/55/16 dunlop radials give it a racy look and improved handling. Although no documentation exist with the car, we do have the original owners manual, and enthusiasts will quickly realize what this car is. There is only some very minor surface rust on the bottoms of the doors, and underneath is very tight and clean. It was originally sold in Winnie, Texas and spent most of it's live in Kerrville Air Conditioning
