Despite the fact that most people are unfamiliar with the northwestern auto parts co., their conversions for gmc, chevrolet, ford, and studebaker introduced americans to the benefits of 4wd. Initially the napco equipment was offered as a kit, but by 1957 both gmc and chevrolet trucks could be ordered from the factory with the power-pak (4wd) conversion. The partnership was brief, however, as gm's reengineered front suspensions in 1960 were not compatible with the powr-pak, and all-new, in-house 4wd systems were being developed at general motors. The venerable 283 ci small block has been fortified with 'double hump' heads and a rochester quadrajet carburetor for a bit more power, which is routed through a 4-speed manual transmission and back to the napco transfer case. The paint and body, chassis, interior, and wood bed have been freshly restored and look fantastic. This is a rugged and collectible truck that's ready for another 58 years of service!

It's easy to get comfortable in the big overstuffed leather seats and with carpeted floors, it's rather luxurious inside. The fact that the handsome maroon finish works so well on the Apache is a happy coincidence, but to be honest, these trucks would look right in just about any color AM/FM✔ Leather Seats✔ Aluminum Wheels

There are a lot of ways to build a cool ride without spending cubic dollars, and this 1959 chevy apache pickup could be used as a how-to guide for doing it right. Sure, it still packs its original six-cylinder engine, but that's all part of the charm, and the upgrades it does have are smart and stylish so it really needs no apologies. Code 708a is this truck's original color so it looks right, especially with that white roof. The two-tone look doesn't overpower the basic goodness of the design, which is arguably the first styled truck, and one of the best-looking of the 1950s. Fit and finish are exactly right for a vehicle designed for economical transportation as the door tag suggests, and the recent work gives it a great shine that will attract admirers everywhere it goes. There's some chrome on the bumpers and grille of this working-class pickup, and it retains original-style white painted grille surround that is a nod to tradition. No truck was this luxurious inside back in 1959, but the upgrades are certainly welcome. The original bench now wears an updated seat cover with cloth seating surfaces that are a lot more comfortable than the original vinyl. That is the original steering wheel, painted satin black and placed within easy reach of the 3-speed column-mounted shifter. The instrument panel is stock with crisp markings and a look that was clearly lifted from the passenger car line. Turn signals, a radio, and even the heater were still optional in 1959, although this one does have a later kenwood am/fm/cassette head unit in the center of the dash and a heater tucked under the dash. Nevertheless, nothing spoils the honest goodness of this truck; sometimes basic is good. In a world full of chevy trucks with me too small block v8s, it's refreshing to see an original 235 cubic inch inline-six still under the hood of this apache. Certainly willing and able to work hard, it has a great trucky sound and smooth torque that only six cylinders in a line can deliver. It's wearing the proper corporate blue engine enamel, an oil bath air cleaner, and single-barrel carburetor. The stock 3-speed manual transmission lives behind it and spins the original rear end, so this truck will still haul a load without breaking a sweat, and cruises happily at highway speeds. Thanks to a frame-off restoration a few years ago, there are also new shocks, super clean floors, a new exhaust system, and stylish color-matched rally wheels with 235/70/15 bfgoodrich t/a radials fo. AM/FM✔ Cloth Interior

1959 chevrolet apache 3100 with the deluxe cab and big back window. Exterior: this truck features a straight and solid body and nice driver quality paint. There are no noticeable areas of rust anywhere on the truck. The paint is a few years old, it looks like, but still looks great. The window glass is all solid with no chips or cracks. The wheels and tires are in great shape as is the wood bed. All the chrome, including the bumpers, is in excellent condition. Interior: the custom vinyl interior has a few years on it as well, but is holding up great. The speedometer is working and seems to be pretty accurate. The rubber floor mat is solid with no tears or cracks. The windows roll up and down without any fuss and the doors open and close like they should. Mechanical: the inline 6 and 3 speed manual transmission work great. It took me a few trips in the truck to get reaquainted with chevy’s column-shift 3-speed, but once familiar it runs up and down the road with ease. The clutch and brakes are fantastic, as is the manual steering. The engine seems pretty strong for what it is and doesn’t seem to leak any fluids that i’ve noticed. I have this truck listed on a few other sites, so i will remove this ad without notice if it sells elsewhere. Thanks for stopping to take a look!
