The previous owner had a passion forthis vehicle and it shows. Although this was not a full frame off restoration. The previous owner has passed, his survivng sister said he had extensive motorwork done recently but i cannot as of yet locate the documentation for that. Thecar sounds great, sporty growl to the engine. It runs and shifts very good. Igot this car because i immediately loved it when i saw it. Unfortunately idon't have the space to keep it indoors in the inclimate weather the way itwas kept.

The car has a build date of late 1966, near the end of the TR 4A production, giving it the original wood dash option (replaced with a gorgeous dark teak) and improved rear end as used in the later TR250 and TR6 models. I purchased this car from the previous owner 12 years ago and have driven it only a handful of times, so it has seen very light use and only in the summer by a long time Triumph owner who garaged it from purchase. The most desirable, rarest and easiest to drive, maintain and enjoy of all the TR Sports Cars, with the glorious acclaimed styling of Giovanni Michelotti. This car is enjoyable to drive and has always been my favorite model Triumph. It has an older restoration that was done to a driver quality standard by the previous owner about 15 years ago. At the time, all the window rubber front, side and rear where replaced with all new original correct type chrome finishing strips so often missing on these cars. A new windscreen (windshield) was fitted at the same time. He replaced the rocker panels, due to some corrosion (even on a California car) and the interior. The console surround was redone, a new convertible boot cover and a convertible top where replaced as well. All the fuzzy door seals had been replaced and most of the carpeting was replaced in exact original patterns. New front and rear bumpers, overriders where f.

For the true british sports car experience, it's hard to beat a tr6. At the same time, the tr6 retains that old world charm that even the miata wasn't able to duplicate despite years of scientific research. No, there's just something special about british craftsmanship and a car with a real wood dashboard. This 1974 tr6 has been restored all out of proportion to its value. Someone spent quite a bit more than the asking price to make it look this good, but given the way these have been slowly inching up, perhaps the investment was warranted. The medium blue exterior is handsome and conservative, and looks the way a sporting two-seater should with handsome cut-down doors, a long bonnet, and that trademark upright windshield. The sheetmetal is in good order, not perfect, but clean and straight and wearing a red pinstripe that really sets it apart. Other details like the early-style chrome bumpers, the trunk-mounted luggage rack, and the instantly-recognizable taillights are in great shape and someone has thoughtfully added a set of driving lights up front in the grille. The patterns and the aftermarket wood steering wheel give it a very upscale feel that's more jaguar than lowly triumph. Add in the drop-dead gorgeous walnut dashboard that's been refinished well beyond the factory standard, plus a set of handsome white-on-black instruments, and this car starts to look like it's worth every penny of the asking price. All the gauges are working, the carpet isn't faded, and there's a bit of storage behind the seats that supplements the modest trunk out back. The big 2. 6 liter inline-six is smartly dressed with a painted valve cover and a pair of side-draft carburetors, all surrounded by that periwinkle blue paint that makes a fine backdrop.
